What is La Quinzena Metropolitan Dance?
Embracing every genre and with something to appeal to every audience, staged in theatres, museums, Metro carriages and out on the streets, La Quinzena Metropolitan Dance is an invitation to revel in dance, to get to know great artists and new talents, and to discover styles and techniques that will amaze you. It’s an opportunity to enjoy a vibrant experience in six cities in the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona. Six cities united by dance.
Diversity is one of the hallmarks of La Quinzena Metropolitan Dance, a new initiative that intends to become an annual event for the arts of movement. Classical, contemporary, flamenco, hip-hop, jazz, musical, traditional and every other dance form all feature on the programme, along with participative projects. La Quinzena promises a fortnight packed with performances and parallel activities, as well as a forum for sharing and interaction between the sector and public agents involved in the performing arts. All in all, it will be great event that will leave its mark on the cities involved.
La Quinzena is being held in venues of every kind, has something for all audiences and involves schools and quality popular dance centres. The event takes a contemporary look at the arts of movement, offers shows of international renown across the entire metropolitan region and provides production aid for new works. In bringing artists and citizens together, it establishes a dialogue that is beneficial for everyone.
Between 1 and 18 March, Badalona, Barcelona, Cornellà de Llobregat, Esplugues de Llobregat, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat and Santa Coloma de Gramenet will be hosting over a hundred dance performances.
