“Did you know that Bruce was the champion of cha-cha-cha?” Junyi Sun has created a show stemming from his curiosity about this popular figure of the 1970s, considered a legend by many.

“Did you know that Bruce was the champion of cha-cha-cha?” This is how Junyi Sun describes his first solo project, which stems from his curiosity about this popular figure of the 1970s, who many consider to have been a legend. Sun analyses the points in common and parallels that he has with the artist, from their origins or professional careers to their ideals or desires to shape them and bring them to life in this very personal show, halfway between dance and martial arts.

Junyi Sun has worked and collaborated with different companies all over the world. He won the 2017 Critics Prize as the best dancer for the show Dancing With Frogs by the Sol Picó company, and the 2014 Critics Prize for best new artist with the show Kyla, directed by Adrian Devant. He is currently directing the Kernel Dance Theatre, a dance company that, from Barcelona, develops a language of its own by integrating contemporary dance with theatre and martial arts, with the aim of creating projects to make the audience reflect and discover new points of view about what is happening now.

Junyi Sun will offer a Kune workshop. a method of movement that he created together with the other members of the Kernel Dance Company, dedicated to people interested in movement and martial arts. It will be on 6 March, at the Teatre Alegria in Terrassa, with advance enrolment.
