A trip to the mixed origins of the Andalusian company, through urban dances and the contemporary scene and a reflection on the emotional confusion we are currently experiencing, due to the disconnection arising from the pandemic.

"HUMAN 21" by Sandra Macià

A reflection on the emotional confusion we are currently experiencing, due to the disconnection arising from the pandemic. Using a nightmare as a starting point, the two dancers enter into a dispute between emotion and reason in the face of uncertainty, finally giving themselves the opportunity to reinvent themselves and move forward from a position of creative resistance.

Sandra Macià has many years of experience as a dancer, choreographer and as the director of Dancescape, a dance school with a history spanning 20 years. In HUMAN 21, she is accompanied by the performers Aleix Guillaumet, trained in urban dance, as well as Latin, contemporary and classical dance, who has appeared in various shows and television programmes, along with productions such as the opera Carmen and the Nouvas dance company; and Sandra Valls, a dancer and dance teacher trained in urban dance, as well as Latin and contemporary dance, who has participated in various shows, including Special Circus, London Town, Sinergia and Destí traçat.

"Levantaos", Colectivo Premohs

Four Andalusian dancers tell us of the forced abandonment of customs and identity. A piece that combines urban and contemporary dance to rediscover the broken memory of the Andalusian people and recognise the richness and diversity of their culture. The show takes its inspiration from the roots of several different civilisations. Through the countless palmadas (claps of the hands), they find the sounds that capture the pain in their voices and sustain their hope. Authors such as Antonio Manuel, a source of inspiration, showed them the way to rediscover their history that has been silenced, recover who they once were and understand who they now are.

Colectivo Premohs is an Andalusian dance collective founded in 2016, that since the very beginning has participated in various festivals and artistic residencies such as the Centro Coreográfico de La Gomera and the Mediterranean Dance Center. They also won first prize in the Burgos New York choreography contest in the urban dance category. Inspired by the daily realities and spontaneity of their place of origin, they are creators of their own language, integrating and blending urban dance, contemporary performing arts and flamenco rhythms.
