La Quela takes up the children's musical repertoire of oral tradition through experimentation with theatrical languages such as music, contemporary dance and hip-hop.
La Quela, who could very well be the granddaughter of the “la masovera se’n va al mercat” (Catalan children's song), is the protagonist of this small-scale stage production that weaves rhythms and rhymes from the meeting of words with song and movement. A show for the youngest audience members, where the new and old join hands, inspired by the repertoire of oral tradition and recreated through experimentation with theatrical languages, such as music, contemporary dance and hip-hop.
In its fifteen years of existence, this Catalan urban culture and dance company has already created some fifteen shows, which have been performed all over the world. They always exude an overwhelming energy, spectacular choreography and a positivism that defines their style perfectly. They are passionate about dance, and also about live music, lighting and new technologies. With interactive projections, improvisations and impossible choreographies, the company never stops dreaming and seeking that elusive magic touch in their shows.
