In order to pass on physical, aesthetic and civic values to young people through dance and choreographic creation, Santa Coloma is now celebrating the third edition of “Moving to”, an educational project related to contemporary dance which, in just three years, has risen to great heights. It provides participating youngsters with an opportunity to climb up onto the stage of a professional theatre to present the fruits of their labours.

The project has evolved with every edition. This year, a group of dancers will create and perform live the soundtrack of Moving to Motion: using basic musical guidelines, the dancers will compose their own score, which will make forays into pop, rock and jazz.

L’Excèntrica, a flagship drama school in Santa Coloma de Gramenet, launched the initiative in 2016 and in each of the three editions it has created a dance piece with live music involving three groups of boys and girls trained for the occasion. A different show has resulted from each of the three events and they were all performed first at the Teatre Sagarra.
