Masia Freixa

It is a modernist building located in the Sant Jordi park, Ca n'Aurell neighborhood, Terrassa. It was built in 1899, initially as a nickel silver textile factory, with a rectangular shape and a pitched gabled roof, which was later reformed in phases between 1907 and 1914 by Lluís Muncunill i Parellada.

It went from being a steam factory, to a warehouse, to a country house. The Gaudian inspiration and the modernist style is reflected in the organic, the movement, the catenary arches and the curved lines. The facades are covered with white stucco, making the profiles of the openings rounded.

The structure is made up of the original, with a double wall where a new facade is added, with parabolic arches, some of which are double-height. It consists of a terrace, a gallery, a double height in the centre, a lookout tower, and an apse. In 1959 the Terrassa city council acquired the farmhouse, and converted it into the Professional Music Conservatory, and the gardens, into a public park.
