Estado de exilio

In addition to Tothom balla, the group dance that will be mounted simultaneously in every city participating in La Quinzena, Santa Coloma has prepared two programmes by Ana Pérez, the dancer, choreographer and teacher who wants to make dance visible in her city by bringing it out onto the street

Estado de exilio is a collective creation that is flamenco in essence and which contains considerable experimentation. It is based on poems by Cristina Peri Rossi, who has a powerful voice and has first-hand experience of the tragedy of exile. A quiet call to hope.

El carrer dansa

In addition to Tothom balla, the group dance that will be mounted simultaneously in every city participating in La Quinzena, Santa Coloma has prepared two programmes by Ana Pérez, the dancer, choreographer and teacher, who wants to make dance visible in her city by bringing it out onto the street.

The first programme, El carrer dansa, consists of roaming actions that will take place every 15 minutes. Based on an everyday action, choreographic pieces inspired by film musicals will be developed and performed by various dance schools in the city.

Cornellà joins the great dance celebration with A tres bandes, a choreographic work by Amparo Ruiz, Eva Gris and Vanessa Adrián Gómez, to be danced by professional pupils from their respective schools.

Territori Dansa

Share

La Quinzena will close in L’Hospitalet with an open and participative day of dance on the street in an urban environment: the paved square with a contemporary look of the Poliesportiu del Centre, the lawns of the gardens of Can Sumarro, the flagstones of Carrer Xipreret, corners of the city of varying sizes and characteristics, and historic buildings. A diverse landscape for an ambitious Territori Dansa!

Children dance too

A day before this group dance, the boys and girls of L’Hospitalet will come out onto the street to dance! Under the guidance of music and PE teachers, and co-ordinated by the dance and music teachers at the Escola Municipal de Música Centre de les Arts (EMMCA), pupils in their first year of primary education in public-sector schools in the city will bop and boogie in the centre of L’Hospitalet to the rhythms of gypsy jazz, pop rock and traditional melodies.

Closing event: join the fun on 17 March

Toni Mira, one of the leading figures in contemporary dance in Catalonia, has created a dance piece for active people. It is a participative dance proposal aimed at everyone who wants to join in. If you do Zumba, hip-hop, flamenco, classical ballet, aerobics or ballroom dancing, you can participate in a group dance that will be held simultaneously at 12.00 midday in every city participating in La Quinzena. This is Movent emocions. Whatever your age, experience or standard, what matters here is that you’re keen to dance.

Zaquizamí

Share

Every time the light comes on, the crocodile soft toys have an ever greater liking for jazz; every time the light comes on, the girls have left home; and every time the light comes on, an old umbrella recovers its power to turn rain into spring. Every time the light comes on in our Zaquizamí, a closed room at the end of a corridor, the lame dancer can dance, the blind tightrope walker can cross the void and no-one can stop the gorilla and the owl from celebrating their love, even though their wings and legs always end up in a tangle.

Dios menguante

A man and a woman look for, find and hide from a shrinking god. These two disparate characters—she is a portly matron; he wears a clergyman’s cassock—come across each other one laundry day on a rooftop, with a washing machine that goes round endlessly and lines waiting for the trousers, skirts, stockings and bras that the woman will hang out.

La partida

Share

Inspired by the universe portrayed in Paolo Zucca’s film L’arbitro, this choreographic piece establishes a dialogue between contemporary dance and football. Five dancers, five footballers and a referee reveal the similarities and differences between the two disciplines.

La partida is a reflection on humans’ needs and priorities. Passion and humour, strength and sensitivity, animality and sophistication confront each other in a game in which the protagonists and the spectators risk their lives on the field of play.
