22nd Ballet Season in Poblenou

This year will see the 22nd edition of the Ballet Season in Poblenou, an event open to dance centres around Catalonia, providing them with an opportunity to present their work to the public. This year, 25 schools will be taking part, proving that classical dance is thriving in the Catalan educational sphere.

Directed, as always, by Carles Ibáñez i Padró, a choreographer and the President of the Associació de Professors de Dansa Acadèmica de Barcelona, the Dance Half Marathon will for a period of three days take over the stage in the Sala Poblenou, the theatre space of ‘El Centre’. This organisation, situated in the heart of Poblenou, has served its community for over a hundred years and advocates cultural and artistic activity as a means to foster social cohesion and the consolidation of the neighbourhood’s identity.
