Andrés Corchero’s new creation is based on the mysticism of two women and their work, the Spanish nun Saint Teresa of Jesus, and Simone Weil, the French philosopher, activist and mystic.

Corchero’s new creation is based on the mysticism of two women and their work, the Spanish nun Saint Teresa of Jesus, with Vivo sin vivir en mí, and the French philosopher, activist and mystic Simone Weil, with La gravetat i la gràcia. On the stage we will see five women, dancers of different ages, styles and provenance, five Teresas who will work on the mystic’s most earthly aspect.

Winner of the 2003 National Catalan Dance Prize, Andrés Corchero has a long career that goes from his acknowledged professional experience with butoh dance to improvisation along with renowned musicians like Joan Saura and Agustí Fernández. He has moreover created numerous choreographies, many of them with his company Raravis (with Rosa Muñoz), and he has worked with a large number of artists, in dance and other disciplines. Last season we saw two solo performances by him, intimate and honest works that captivated the audience.

The show is complemented with the parallel activity One hour before Teresa, by ANDRÉS CORCHERO, on 6 March at 7 pm in the sala Sebastià Gasch at the Mercat de les Flors.

The company also proposes Saturday workshop, with ANDRÉS CORCHERO, on 13 March from 10 am to 1 pm, a workshop recommended for children aged 9 to 12.
