The second part of an intimate and dazzling conversation between flamenco and guitar from the prestigious bailaora [flamenco dancer], recent winner of the Silver Lion in dance at the Venice Biennale.

Otherness, dialogue, duality and the need for others in order to shape our own identity are at the heart of the second part of Molina’s guitar trilogy. Guitar players Eduardo Trassierra and Yerai Cortés enter a dialogue that explores the possibilities of the instrument, and accompanying the bailaora with more stylistic resources.

Rocío Molina is a bailaora from Málaga. Born in 1984, she began dancing at the age of three, and at 17 she graduated from the Real Conservatorio de Danza de Madrid with the highest honours, which opened the door for her to join professional international companies. Since then, Molina has crafted a unique code based on the reinvented tradition of a flamenco that respects its essence but embraces the avant-garde. Her work is characterized by technical virtuosity, contemporary research and conceptual risk. She received the Silver Lion in dance at the 2022 Venice Biennale and the National Dance Award in 2010, and among other acknowledgements has also received two Max awards.
