Community project

This year (2024), Dansa Metropolitana starts its new community project that will be developed over two years, with the creation process starting next year and a final presentation that will be part of the 2025 edition of the festival.

The project, entitled Los extranjeros [Foreigners] - Romeo and Carmen, will be carried out in collaboration with the Compagnie Kadia Faraux, from Lyon (France), a company with extensive experience in carrying out projects for different audiences and which works on the basis of the link between creation, transmission and choreographic expression.

The project is based on the belief that dance is the ideal language for creating bonds between people through movement and so that participants can freely share their vision of the world.

The aim is to foster a process of community creation that allows people from different cities and groups to meet and create a joint story that speaks of love and violence based on their own experiences and which can be transmitted to the public using body language.

With this new multi-annual approach, Dansa Metropolitana decides to work on community creation based on listening and the willingness to include participants in all stages of the project, without pressure and following the pace and abilities of everyone who takes part.

You are invited to follow the process through Dansa Metropolitana’s social media and we look forward to seeing you in 2025 to discover where this project will take us and to share the experience with the participants.
