The Common Ground
This sextet explores the relationship between diversity and community through a fictional choreographic approach that evokes the fantastic, the monstrous, and the mythical. Four of the performers are migrants to Spain, while two are Spanish. Each has their own unique cultural heritage and multicultural background, reflected in their identities on stage and in their bodies.
Poliana Lima, a Brazilian choreographer, dancer, and teacher based in Madrid, premiered her first creation, Palo En La Rueda, in 2011. She collaborates with various artists on works that have toured national and international festivals. Focusing on bodies as a channels for expression, she explores stage poetics relating to identity, memory, and the connection between creation and education, aiming to engage with the audience in a profound yet accessible way.
The company will offer a pre-show talk one hour before the performance on Saturday, March 7.
