“El Baile de la Zurda” by LaCerda
In El Baile de la Zurda, LaCerda explores the vital impulse that drives any body dancing to the rhythm of music, approaching dance as a space for festive gathering and as a paradigm of the collective. This piece is a tribute to dance and to the desire to keep dancing in spite of everything, as well as to the company’s Latin American roots, the source of its passion and its approach to dance.
LaCerda is a contemporary dance company founded in 2013 with the aim of exploring the concept of ritual on stage. Working through sensation and visceral experiences, the company seeks to access the primal nature of dance, prior to language and concept. Edward Tamayo, Johann Pérez, and Valentina Azzati have been the artistic directors since 2019, focusing on aesthetics shaped by ritual dances and the poetic dimension of movement.

“ALETA” by Cia. Marc Fernández
Drawing on the imagery of casteller [human tower builders] culture, ALETA revisits the immense richness of this tradition with over 200 years of history. Dance and tradition converge in a format that foregrounds culture, roots and locality through a contemporary performative language in which movement becomes the tool for sharing those collective rituals that shape us as a community.
After a well-established career as a performer, Marc Fernández embarked on his own creative path in 2022 with (ÍOR). The company was born out of a need to explore movement as a physical and emotional language. Its creations combine technique and virtuosity with emotional storytelling, viewing the group as an organism in constant transformation and seeking to move and connect with audiences.
