Fandango Reloaded
Fandango Reloaded is a research-based work that uses dance as a shared ritual to rewrite and reclaim the Fandango of Aiora, a partner dance that was almost erased during the Franco dictatorship. The piece imagines whether urban dance forms today can take on the role once played by traditional Valencian dansaes as spaces of community. It seeks to rematerialise memory by combining traditional, contemporary and urban movement languages.
Inka Romaní is a dancer and creator. Winner of the Me, Myself & I Award at the Madrid Choreographic Competition 2019, she has been an artist-in-residence at KVS Brussels, the Cali Dance Biennial, Graner (Barcelona), La Briqueterie (Paris) and the Cité des Arts (Paris). She is currently an artist-in-residence at K3 in Hamburg. Her work has been presented at venues and festivals including Dansa València, La Casa Encendida, IVAM, CondeDuque, Rialto, 10 Sentidos, La Mutant and Tanz im August.
