Le Sacre du Printemps
In every metamorphosis and profound change in a human life, death accompanies life as a rite of passage or an inner revolution. In the animal and plant kingdoms, coexistence is literal: death is part of fertilisation, and life blooms upon corpses. Among insects, seeds and fungi, death invites life. The cyclical regeneration of the seasons blends agitation, fear and the cosmic joy of simply existing.
Dewey Dell is an Italian dance and performing arts company active since 2006, currently made up of Agata Castellucci, Teodora Castellucci, musician Demetrio Castellucci and Vito Matera. Their choreographic research, inspired by art history and animal behaviour, confronts ancient archetypes and narratives and transforms them into living, contemporary material.
The company offers an after-show discussion.
This program will include an additional prologue and epilogue with a soundscape created by Demetrio Castellucci exclusively for this choreography.
