Masterclass

Due to the situation in the Middle East, Sharaf DarZaid's dabke masterclass will be taught by Fadi Waked.

Fadi Waked is a Palestinian dancer, choreographer and dabke teacher from Damascus, based in Berlin since 2015. His work has been presented internationally with companies such as Sasha Waltz & Guests, among others. He is the creator of the solo A Ticket to Another Migration, currently touring around the world, and continues to explore identity, movement and migration through contemporary and traditional dance.

Sharaf DarZaid invites participants to explore the dabke, a traditional Palestinian dance rich in symbolism and cultural identity. As well as working with the body, the session creates a space to reflect on movement, creativity and dance as tools for collective engagement, resilience and freedom.
