Mongrel
Mongrel explores pettiness, oppression, and herd mentality. It is a social critique of Western society through the lens of the Law of Jante, a social manifesto imposing conformity and consensus, and an almost suffocating uniformity, under the guise of equality and justice.
Marina Mascarell, artistic director of Danish Dance Theatre, is an internationally acclaimed choreographer recognised for her interdisciplinary, thought-provoking work. She has also received commissions from prestigious institutions such as Nederlands Dans Theater 1 and 2, GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, Lyon Opera Ballet, Skånes Dansteater, Dance Forum Taipei, and the Sydney Dance Company for the 50th anniversary of the Sydney Opera House, among others.
The company will offer a pre-show talk one hour before the performance on Saturday, March 21.
