Rober Gómez and Virginia Gimeno

Share

The human forms of the paintings and sculptures in art museums and galleries come to life for a moment.

This duet brings to life the human forms that we find in the paintings and sculptures in museums. This piece was created as a site-specific work to mark the 75th anniversary of the Museu l’Empordà in Figueres and the originality of the piece has led to it being reprogrammed in other facilities of different museums and galleries in Catalonia.

Virginia Gimeno and Rober Gómez are contemporary dance graduates from the Theatre and Dance Institute of Barcelona, and postgraduates from It Dansa, Catherine Allard’s young company. In 2008 they came together in the Gelabert-Azzopardi Company and since then a strong friendship and a feeling of admiration has grown between them. Virginia is currently directing her own project Adoctrinades, in which Rober dances in one of her pieces, WhiCh. Rober is a founding member of the Hotel Col·lectiu Escènic. Last October they won first prize at the Bionic Festival in Madrid with their duet CHI.
