Teatro alla Scala
Edward Clug’s Peer Gynt is debuting at La Scala for the first time. It is a narrative, dreamlike ballet that follows the physical and inner journey of this legendary figure from Nordic folklore, a dramatic and complex character who sprang from Ibsen’s pen.
The piece combines Ibsen’s chronological narrative with Grieg’s music, incorporating other works by the composer to create a rich, dynamic and coherent show. Clug opens doors to new artistic landscapes, inviting the audience to traverse them and immerse themselves in a fascinating experience full of nuance, emotion and stage poetry.
