AYOUB

This project sprang from the idea that Marina Otero might help a vulnerable man and that he, in turn, might rescue her from loneliness. Ayoub’s arrival transformed that search. His name, very common in Islamic countries, carries a devastating weight: 115 children bearing this name were killed by the Zionist state of Israel in the Gaza Strip. The piece is named in memory of these deaths and speaks of colonialism, of Palestine and of everything that seeks to destroy what lives within it.

Marina Otero, an Argentine director, performer and author based in Madrid, develops her work within the autobiographical project Recordar para vivir, which includes pieces such as Andrea, Recordar 30 años…, Fuck me, Love me and Kill me. Her work has toured internationally and has received awards including the 2021 ZKB Prize and the 2024-2025 French Critics’ Award. She also leads creation workshops worldwide.

Performance in Spanish and Darija.
The performance uses flour as part of the props, generating particles suspended in the air during the show. This should be taken into account, especially by people with sensitivities or low tolerance to gluten.
