Educational project
In its latest edition Dansa Metropolitana has developed a pilot educational project with the aim of bringing dance and the arts of movement to secondary school pupils in some of the cities and towns taking part.
The programme consists of free training and activities, which have been coordinated together with the schools, and teaching materials to be able to bring the world of dance to the youngsters transversally. It is a means of generating debate and understanding dance also as a place for expression and reflection, for criticism and denunciation.
This programme includes visits to open rehearsals of companies that are taking part in this year’s edition of the festival, and specific workshops with professionals from the word of dance to encourage as much as possible the active practice of the arts of movement and direct contact with the companies’ creative processes.
This project participates: Badalona, Barcelona, Cornellà, el Prat, Granollers, Sabadell, Santa Coloma, Terrassa and Viladecans.
Open rehearsals with the companies taking part in Dansa Metropolitana
The students will have the chance to attend open rehearsals of companies taking part in the festival and thus get first-hand knowledge of the creative talent that we have in this country. They will discover the creative processes behind a project for the stage and they will be able to talk to the artists about their works and share present and future challenges. Four of these sessions are in the program 'EN RESiDÈNCiA in the institutes of Barcelona’.
Workshop ‘Becoming an image’, with Adrián Vega
The students will have the chance to attend a workshop about the audio-visual production of dance shows and/or projects, which will allow them to learn about resources, types of cameras and, most importantly, what they are for. A practical workshop for getting to know the different cameras, shots and programmes in order to create and edit a good visual project, with examples of companies and performers who use the audio-visual medium as yet another form of expression.
Workshop ‘Generation Z’, with La Quebrá
This workshop will allow young people to learn about the world of creation and dance through the codes and the language of the social networks. It is a practical investigation project for young people aged between 13 and 17 that will have dance and creation as a connector and catalyst of emotions. Through the networks we will look at the world of creation to discover movement as a place of expression, and give the youngsters the chance to be creators, to make them understand that this position gives them the freedom to materialize ideas, concepts and to create realities. We will use this expressive and channelling need to materialize it together, through danced and dramatized creative practice.
