ÀGORES PROJECT
Àgores is the project this year that is bringing life to the streets of the cities participating in Dansa Metropolitana. It’s a space where the city is filled with music, shared steps and the desire to come together, a project that turns any ordinary day into a collective celebration, where everyone can be part of what is happening.
The idea is simple: go out into the streets and experience dance as a way of being together, of feeling part of the community. Àgores reclaims the square as a place to meet, to express ourselves and to let our bodies move freely, without formality and with no distance between artists and the public. It is a space to be present, to join in and to celebrate dance and everything that unites us.
Each city experiences Àgores in its own way. In some places, it may begin with small public-space interventions; in others, with a professional performance or an open workshop that evolves into a celebration. There is no single format: many possibilities exist, each reflecting each city’s character, people and venues.
