A semi-autobiographical depiction of the life and death of director Bob Fosse, addicted to drugs, sex and work, through Pere Faura’s lens

In 1979, Bob Fosse filmed All That Jazz, a semi-autobiographical depiction of his addiction to drugs, sex and work, which ultimately depicts his possible death. Taking this film as its main reference point, the show is an autobiographical portrait of the author and his death as a professional, divided into three main acts symbolising the three main stages of the process of putting on a show: audition, creation and performance.

Pere Faura graduated from the School for New Dance Development in School for New Dance Development Amsterdam in 2006. That same year, he joined the Frascati Theatre in Amsterdam as a resident choreographer, and in 2009 he received the prestigious Charlotte Köhler Prize. In 2011, he graduated from the Amsterdam University of the Arts with a Master’s in Choreography and returned to Barcelona, where he continued producing new shows in collaboration with various different creation centres in the city. His work is known for its appropriation of elements of pop culture, in a multi-disciplinary choreography that spans all the elements that make up the fabric of theatre. In addition to his work as a creator, he has also participated in organisation and design work in the context of artistic exhibition through the CRIM (Independent Creators in Movement) platform, within the ARTAS (Associate Artists at La Poderosa) collective and as a founding member of G.R.U.A. (Research Group for Artistic Universes).
