"Rojo Rojo Verde", Colectivo Banquet

Three people, a common space, and not-so-common interests. Rojo Rojo Verde explores the physics of the balance between individualism and collective support. Balance, the central theme of the show, is the key to continuing to protect the planet we live on, where green space is disappearing, and the warning lights are flashing ever redder. A work that invites the audience to reflect on our coexistence with our planet; the pressures on us, and the pressures we inflict on our world. Is there room for everyone and everything on this planet, and what will happen if we finally cause everything to explode?

Colectivo Banquet arose in 2020, out of a need to communicate through contemporary dance. The group is made up of six passionate young women, and is a space for collaborative work and unity, with a powerful social commitment. The project is based on three fundamental principles: the creation of artistic works, the dissemination of dance to make it more accessible to all kinds of audiences, and educational activities. The company has taken part in a number of festivals in Spain, such as Cádiz en Danza, es Mou, Festival 10 Sentidos and CuerpoRomo, as well as in exhibitions and events like BetaPública and Gatadans, and competitions such as DZM Cáceres, CCDistrito de Tetuan and CC de Sabadell.

"PER SE", ESA GENTE

Contemporary dance and circus come together in a show that has a big physical component, approaching folklore through melodies played on bagpipes and flute. Three bodies occupying space, which walk, look at each other, move away and touch. Per se arose from a desire to do things, resume life and activate the body. A show full of contrasts with a mathematical aspect, meticulous planning, a consequence of hours of enforced immobility, writing desk, sofa and corridor.

Esa Gente is a dance and circus company founded in León in 2020 by María Casares (dancer and choreographer) and David Tornadijo (circus artist). PER SE is their first creation, in collaboration with musician Nacho Martínez. The production won the Public Prize in the 34th Choreographic Competition in Madrid, and toured Spain in 2021 thanks to the Acieloabierto Network.
