"Soy un baile breve" by Rosa Romero

A contemporary dance solo in which Rosa Romero rethinks the relationship between her body and the rest of the world.

In this solo contemporary dance performance, creator Rosa Romero rethinks the relationship between her body and the rest of the world. This piece is a reflection on how the mechanics of the current system we live in capitalises on bodies. Through dance, the artist seeks new and simpler forms of existence. Soy un baile breve [I am a brief dance] is an excerpt from the Soy un baile [I am a dance] creative process, where she shows how bodies can be sounds, objects, a text or a dance, the latter being a dignified form for the body.

An actor and creator from Cádiz, Romero holds a degree in the dramatic arts from ESAD Málaga, where she also studied technical stage management and helped create the El Quirófano festival. After her time at the William Layton Escuela de Interpretación, an acting school in Madrid, she returned to her hometown of San Fernando, where she created and coordinated the Estratería project. In 2014, she began to work on personal creation with the body, the revival of inherited dance and raw communication with the audience as key themes. Her projects include Esta no es la vida privada de Rosa Romero [This is not the private life of Rosa Romero] and DEBUT. She currently lives in Seville, where she has worked with creators such as Álex Peña, Alberto Cortés, Silvia Balvín and Cris Celada.

"Los lunares del Puma" by Adrián Vega

Rhythm and the beat are at the heart of this voyeuristic experience in which the audience enters an artist’s rehearsal room.

Rhythm and the beat are at the heart of this voyeuristic experience in which the audience enters an artist’s rehearsal room. Today, being a streamer is quite commonplace. Our relationship with cameras is part of daily life, and sharing our activities and processes has become a habit. Adrián Vega takes advantage of the proximity digitalisation offers to explore the format of the performative videoblog, where the virtual and in-person worlds converge to stimulate curiosity and examine the idea of the creative process, with an artistic result in and of itself.

Choreographer Adrián Vega, a gradate of the Institut del Teatre and guest professor at the Conservatori Professional de Dansa de Barcelona, considers himself a post-hip-hop artist. He is interested in the hybridisation and speculation of the languages of movement. It is in this space that he feels comfortable creating instant composition and improvisation patterns borrowed from breakdance, contemporary dance and flamenco. His work is focused on the relationship with the land, the inversion of the body, the beauty of visual effects and the exploration of sound.
