Un cuerpo sin vergüenza/shamless body

We reach adolescence as a tin robot, ready for everything except to understand what is s/he like. As in a science-fiction movie, we tend to change to become somebody different. Sometimes we shrug our shoulders and lower our eyes to hide this metamorphosis. Other times, we challenge the whole world with a high head. Angela and Koldo want want to go back to this life stage and, from the skin, start building a home full of sensations, a safe and fertile place where the ideas and desires of our imagination sprout.

A shameless body/Un cuerpo sin vergüenza takes part of the CIRCULA project, a dance creation and training circuit organized by the professional dance associations of Catalonia, Madrid, Basque Country, Andalusia, Valencia, Asturias and the Canary Islands.

Angela Peris and Koldo Arostegui started working together in 2012 with a show for the childrens’ públic Alles, which they brought to more than ten countries. Five years later, they premiered Un cuerpo sin vergüenza, awarded with the prize ACT-DURI of the Festival Act. Its artístic research led them to explore the boundaries between the voice, the body, the dance and the gesture, and performative solutions that would fade away the distance between públic and performer.
