Once Para que o céu não caia finishes, the dancer and choreographer Lia Rodrigues, the Director of the Mercat de les Flors Àngels Margarit and the founder of the Casa Nuvem de Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Bonito, will be offering a talk on the work of the Brazilian artist in her home country. A conversation between Lia Rodrigues and the educator and activist Eliana Sousa to tell us how education and artistic experiences are becoming key factors in social action for the Redes da Maré organisation and the Centre de les Arts, in Rio de Janeiro. Eliana Sousa Silva is the director and founder of Redes de Desenvolvimento da Maré, an NGO created in 1997 after a long process of action and community movement in the Maré favelas in Rio de Janeiro. A proposal within the Audience Workshop at the Mercat de les Flors.

Una Hora de Dansa [An hour of dance]

Una Hora de Dansa is both an exhibition platform for young choreographers and performers and also an open space for new proposals from professionals with an outstanding track record which introduces the public to dance pieces at different stages of the creation process. Coordinated by dancer and educator Beatriz Vergés, the programme features pieces from urban, tap, contemporary, flamenco and dance theatre.

Throughout the year, the El Sortidor Civic Centre houses dance projects in their creation phase. There will be several shows this year, including Water-Fall, from the Adri Mascort company, a production that questions and explores codes of ethics, self-control and introspection.

ARTDANCE. Dance championship

A championship created in order to promote the dance culture of our main national dance schools, through the organisation of an event that aims to create an emotional connection with its participants and generate a feeling of belonging.

Participants will be competing in various dance categories: modern jazz, classical and neo-classical styles, Latin dance, Spanish style and contemporary.
